. Regardless of nationality, dedicated professional hairdressers are a mix of craftsman, social worker, stand-up comedian and confidant. I was one for over  40 years, meeting thousands of people, sharing countless hours of interesting conversation and many amusing stories. I wrote down many of the stories, and it was this cacophony of scribbling that inspired me to attempt to start writing when I had to retire.
